*Description*
The CMDB Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) in ServiceNow which includes HAM, SAM and Certificate Management to ensure accuracy, integrity, and reliability of configuration data. This role supports IT Service Management (ITSM) processes such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Asset Management, and plays a critical part in enabling visibility and control across IT infrastructure and services. Key Responsibilities 1.CMDB Maintenance & Governance oMaintain the CMDB by ensuring all Configuration Items (CIs) are accurately identified, documented, and updated. oImplement and enforce CMDB policies, processes, and procedures to maintain data integrity and compliance with ITIL standards. oPerform regular audits and health checks to identify and resolve discrepancies, duplicates, and inconsistencies. 2.Configuration Item (CI) Management oDefine and maintain CI types, classes, and attributes based on organizational requirements. oEstablish and manage relationships between CIs to accurately represent dependencies and configurations. 3.Certification Process Management oNotify CI Owners/Custodians about certification tasks, including reminders and escalation when necessary. oReview CI attributes for accuracy, make updates, or request new data for corrections. oConfirm certification completion (pass/fail) and resolve failed or incomplete certifications through follow-up and data updates 4.Integration & Automation oConfigure and optimize ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping to populate and synchronize CI data. oIntegrate CMDB with other IT systems (e.g., monitoring tools, asset management systems) for automated data exchange. oDevelop scripts and workflows for automated CI updates. 5.Reporting & Analysis oGenerate and distribute reports on CMDB health, compliance, and performance metrics. oProvide insights and recommendations to improve configuration management processes. 6.Collaboration & Support oWork closely with IT operations, service desk, change management, and asset management teams. oProvide training and support to stakeholders on CMDB usage and best practices. 7.Hardware Asset Management oDocument and publish the Hardware Asset Management process in alignment with ITIL and organizational standards. oReview Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate process efficiency and take corrective actions as needed. oEnsure compliance with HAM policies, standards, and audit requirements. oConduct periodic audits and maintain accurate documentation for governance and regulatory purposes oAsset Lifecycle Management 8.Software Asset Management oManage and maintain the entire software asset lifecycle in accordance with the organization's SAM process. oReview Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate process efficiency and take corrective actions as needed. oMaintain accurate records in the Asset Management Database, including software licenses, models, and associated details oConduct periodic audits and maintain accurate documentation for governance and regulatory purposes 9.Certificate Management oOversee the entire lifecycle of certificates, including issuance, renewal, revocation, and expiration tracking. oMaintain an accurate inventory of all certificates across environments (production and non-production) in ServiceNow or designated repository oEnsure certificates are linked to associated assets such as servers, applications, and devices for traceability oImplement automated alerts and renewal tasks in ServiceNow for certificates nearing expiration (e.g., 90, 60, 30, and 7 days before expiry). oContinuously optimize monitoring tools and processes to prevent service disruptions caused by certificate failures Required Skills & Qualifications *Technical Expertise: oStrong knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB, ITOM Visibility, Discovery, and Service Mapping. oFamiliarity with ITIL framework and configuration management principles. oExperience with integrations using SOAP/REST APIs. *Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: oAbility to analyze data quality issues and implement corrective actions. oProficiency in reporting tools (e.g., ServiceNow Performance Analytics, Power BI). *Soft Skills: oStrong communication and collaboration skills. oAttention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. *Top Skills Details* ServiceNow CMDB,ITIL,Hardware Asset Management,Software Asset Management,Discovery & Service Mapping *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Bachelor's Degree and/or 4 - 6 years of related experience OR High School Diploma or GED with 6-8 years of related experience. *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Forest, IL. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00/hr.
