Position Summary

Maintenance Mechanic

SUMMARY: Maintenance, repair, and installation of all manufacturing machines. Assisting the cell with preventative maintenance and routine maintenance on machines. Knowledge of molding machinery operations and functions for repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Machine Installation


  • Works from complex diagrams and blueprints

  • Installation and set up

  • Provide/run necessary mechanicals/hookups to machine location

  • All functions to get machine operable


Machine Maintenance



  • Trains and assists cells with scheduled and routine preventative maintenance

  • Trouble shoot malfunctions

  • Make adjustment as necessary


Machine Repairs


  • Replaces parts or worn components

  • Design and install additional safety features or recommendations


Machine Operation


  • May run manufacturing equipment from time to time



Qualifications:


  • Able to troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits from 24 VDC / 24 AC to 480-volt 3 phase. Able to read and understand prints and schematics.

  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, valves, pumps, etc.

  • Troubleshoot pneumatic systems.

  • IMM (Injection Molding Machine) troubleshooting experience. Preferably Sumitomo's but anything would be ok.

  • Must have own tools and toolbox

  • Knows how to run conduit and size circuits accordingly to amps.

  • Knows how to fit and run pipe, (galvanized, copper, PVC).

  • Forklift experience

  • Man lift experience

  • Knowledge of Air Compressors systems

  • HVAC experience

  • Water tower systems experience

  • PLC experience

  • Experience with contacting suppliers and ordering parts



ESSENTIAL FUNCTION SATEMENT (S)


  • Actively participate and support the plant's safety program. Report any injury or near miss immediately to your Group Lead or EHS Manager. Report all unsafe conditions immediately to a Group Lead, Value Stream Manager or EHS Manager.

  • Actively participate in the High-Performance Team designated for your area. The HPTs are meant to improve the work experience by allowing the employees an opportunity to offer suggestions for improvement.

  • Record accurate and timely data, including order completions and quantity on daily labor reports, reclaim tickets, reject parts, and daily hours worked.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area. Keep all walkways and aisles free of any debris or clutter. Maintain 5S standards by returning tools to shadow boards. Sweep floor and finishing area as needed.

  • Daily attendance is a requirement of the job, as is arriving on time. Overtime is expected when customer demand dictates the need.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and/or 2 to 3 years of related machining/maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to affectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
