THE POSITION

As a Corrections Stock Clerk with the Department of Corrections (DOC), you will be part of a team that keeps the State Correctional Institution (SCI ) at Phoenix running smoothly. You will handle incoming supplies, organize inventory, and support essential operations throughout the facility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role supports the daily operation of the warehouse by receiving, organizing, and disbursing inventory throughout the facility. As a Corrections Stock Clerk, you will perform the following duties:

  • Inventory Management: Receive, inspect, store, and distribute stock while keeping accurate records
  • Inmate Oversight: Guide inmates during work assignments and maintain required documentation
  • Equipment Operation: Use forklifts, hand trucks, delivery vehicles, and other tools to move heavy materials
  • Supply Purchasing: Request and order items through the SAP system to maintain proper stock levels
  • Warehouse Support: Assist with general warehouse tasks and complete other related duties as needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $43,543.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the training academy in Elizabethtown, PA.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
