Cost Analyst Lead

What you will enjoy doing*

• You will support implementation of management-approved best practice procedures to improve cost efficiency and predictability across the Cost Analyst team
• Provide training on cost control processes, compliance, and best practices for new and existing team members
  Assist with workload management during peak periods, vacations, and vacancies
• Further, you will monitor operations, maintenance, turnaround, and locally managed capital project costs for assigned plants
  Support all phases of lump sum and cost reimbursable projects
• Deliver monthly variance explanations and financial recommendations to Finance is part of your role
• You will ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
• Forecast Estimate at Complete to identify risks and update monthly forecasts for capital projects
• Create and maintain project portfolios, budgets, and deliverables
• Conduct financial audits on projects and evaluate inconsistencies, as well as to maintain weekly, monthly, and yearly cost reports and expense tracking
• You will process, validate, and reconcile invoices and vendor timesheets for major turnarounds and routine work
• Monitor purchase order transactions and create change orders with supporting vendor documentation
• Create Requests for Purchase to ensure timely delivery of materials and services for capital projects, maintenance, operations, and turnarounds
• Assist management with monthly cost reviews to ensure accurate cost allocation and reclassification
• Support accurate submission of yearly accounting accruals, and to assist in budget development and analysis of current year spending to determine Estimate at Complete
• Manage day-to-day accounting and finance processes with accounting staff
• Maintain close interaction with vendors

• Background in accounting or finance organizations
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred
