We are seeking a qualified professional for the Cardiology department in Clifton and Florham Park. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and injecting radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging procedures in compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations and department policies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specific body areas to provide information for Radiologists in diagnosing patient illnesses.
  • Perform cardiac nuclear studies including stress MUGA, Thallium, and non-gated Technetium studies.
  • Assist physicians with procedures as required and provide reports for review/interpretation within the specified time frame.
  • Program computer systems for each procedure and document the reason for tests and any known allergies.
  • Employ proper aseptic techniques in IV insertion and administration.
  • Manage the nuclear schedule for optimal utilization of time, patient flow, and patient needs.
  • Perform daily/weekly quality assurance procedures, including calibration and flood analysis on equipment following manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment problems and report issues requiring repair to the Supervisor of Cardiology Techs, Clinical Manager, and Physician.
  • Acquire clear images appropriate for the studies and accurately gate the study when required.
  • Conduct departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards for SMG, NRC, and EPA.
  • Follow proper procedures for spill and decontamination; report contamination to appropriate authorities and regulatory commissions.
  • Order and log appropriate information regarding the receipt of radioactive materials and pharmaceuticals, and dispose of radioisotopes according to industry standards and regulations.


Qualifications

  • IV Certification required.
  • ARRT and CNMT certifications required.
