About the Opportunity:

Our Cleveland, OH, site is looking for an Ultrasonic Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will be using the immersion straight beam technique. This role also has responsibility to set-up, maintain and operate ultrasonic inspection equipment. The Ultrasonic Inspector will prepare parts for inspection, process parts through the inspection, interpret scan data to determine conformance of parts inspected, and pack product.

The Cleveland site is a $60-70M forging operation specializing in medium- and large-press forgings for aerospace and healthcare applications. The facility manufactures airfoils and other complex forged components used in aircraft engine and large healthcare industry applications.

Location: Cleveland, Ohio. This role is 3rd Shift - 10:00pm - 6:30am, Sun-Thur

Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasonic immersion inspections using straight beam techniques on forged aerospace components and evaluate results for product acceptance in accordance with applicable specifications and procedures.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate ultrasonic testing equipment to ensure inspection accuracy and compliance with customer and quality requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, routers, sketches, engineering drawings, and safety-related documentation to support inspection activities.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, logs, and documentation as required by Pursuit Aerospace, customers, and applicable quality standards.
  • Support material flow throughout the facility by safely transporting parts, tooling, WIP, scrap, and related materials using powered industrial equipment or pallet jacks as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting of inspection equipment and work areas.
  • Support additional inspection activities as needed, including CMM, visual, gage, and warm size inspections.
  • Safely utilize hand tools, powered tools, and inspection equipment in support of daily operations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned by leadership to support production and quality objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current certification in ultrasonic inspection in accordance with NAS-410, SNT-TC-1A, CP-189, or equivalent.
  • A level II certification using the Immersion technique required.
  • Be capable of accepting training to pass any required certification testing.
  • Must meet vision requirements - Jager 1 and color vision.
  • Must be willing to work 3rd shift.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic algebra and trigonometry knowledge required.
  • Flexibility - willingness to work in other areas of the inspection department (CMM/Gage/Visual/etc.) as workload dictates.
  • Familiarity with Scanmaster/IRT ultrasonic equipment preferred.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail while performing multiple tasks in a production environment.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Solid PC skills including MS Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures, work instructions and customer required records and to keep accurate records.

Working Conditions

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk
  • Must be able to climb ladders, work on platforms, and climb stairs.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have basic hand tools.
