Departmental Overview

There are many reasons why the College of Engineering at UC Berkeley is ranked among the top three engineering schools in the world. We offer a dynamic, interdisciplinary, hands-on education. We challenge conventional thinking and value creativity and imagination. And our students and faculty are driven by social commitment and want to change the world. With more than 258 regular faculty members, 2,451 graduate students and 4,383 undergraduate students located in seven academic departments, Engineering is the second largest college on the Berkeley Campus.

The College of Engineering Development team supports Berkeley Engineering's mission through marketing, communications, and private fundraising efforts designed to reach over 73,000 alumni, friends, students, foundations, and corporate partners. During the Light the Way campaign the College of Engineering received $900 million in private gifts and is consistently among the top fundraising units within the university.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Development & Corporate Partnerships, the Associate Director of Corporate Partnerships serves as a strategic lead and deputy for the College's corporate relations program. This role is designed for a savvy fundraiser who can navigate complex university-industry intersections. The Associate Director owns a portfolio of mid-level accounts, oversees complex on-campus corporate visits, manages the liaison relationship with Engineering Student Services (ESS), and oversees the creation of sophisticated data-driven impact tools.

With an annual fundraising goal of $1M, responsibilities include proposal development and grant writing, developing multi-year engagement strategies and stewardship plans, developing impact reports and dashboards, and ensuring a consistent high level experience for top tier corporate visits.

At Berkeley Engineering, we educate and prepare engineering leaders who will create our future. While interest in STEM topics is desirable, a technical background is not required. We believe enthusiasm for innovation, entrepreneurship and a curiosity about engineering's impact on the public good are key ingredients for success in this position.
