90% Laboratory Assistant

  • Assist graduate students with analysis of n-nitrosodimethyl amine (NDMA) in drinking water samples
  • Assist post-doctoral research associate with analysis of assimilable organic carbon (AOC) in drinking water
  • Extract DNA from drinking water samples
  • Perform quantitative polymerase chain reaction on samples from drinking water
  • Wash glassware and other laboratory materials.

10% Adhoc duties as assigned

  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED.

Preferred qualifications

  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow explicit directions and to quickly learn laboratory techniques
  • General interest in academic scientific research of water quality
  • Patience, dedication, flexibility, and enthusiasm.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $16.00- $18.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
