This position is a non-academic, short-term, 67 workdays or less appointment.

Work Schedule and Location: On campus in St Paul, Monday - Friday

**This position is not eligible for H-1B visa sponsorship.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Work independently on a variety of tasks related to sending collection material to the CF, Wilson Government Publications, and NRL (60%)
  • Organize shipments and maintain quality control of loaded shipments. (10%)
  • Provide oversight of students who are loading collections on to carts in the absence of Collection Management Operations Specialist (10%)
  • Independent troubleshooting of problems (10%)
  • Communicate with staff at multiple locations about the project and project needs (5%)
  • Travel between St. Paul Campus Library locations as needed throughout the day (5%)
Qualifications

Required:

  • 2 years of college coursework and/or previous and relevant library experience
  • Intermediate office skills (filing, alphabetizing, sorting, accurate typing)
  • Able to perform essential physical demands includes but is not limited to: frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping/bending, reaching and handling
  • Microsoft Office Excel, Google Drive apps
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Able to work in a variety of Library locations across St. Paul Campus
  • Ability to push carts weighing up to 500 lbs with assistance

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with both verbal and written skills
  • Ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail in an environment with repetitive tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff
  • Previous experience working with Library material and shelving books
  • Ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $17.50 - $18.50/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
