Position Location
This position is based in San Diego, California. The hourly rate of pay is $26.74/hour.
Job Overview
Under direction of the Quality Control Manager, the Quality Control Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections to ensure compliance with contract requirements, Quality Control, and Safety Plans.
Responsibilities
Essential Duites & Job Functions:
- Enforce the policy and standards of the Quality Management System (QMS), reporting directly to the Quality Program Manager.
- Review all site work to verify compliance in accordance with applicable requirements, plans, and procedures.
- Inspect and diagnose problems to determine corrective actions/repairs.
- Inspect work in progress and completed work for discrepancies, in accordance with the Quality Control Plan and applicable Safety Plans, within contract requirements.
- Maintain and submit quality inspection reports as outlined in the quality control plan for monthly reporting.
- Maintain a file of all scheduled and performed inspections and surveillances, inspection and surveillance results, and dates and details of corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of the Contractor Quality Inspection and Surveillance Report.
- Ensure timely reporting of accidents, injuries, "near miss" and hazardous situations.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of Safety Incident and Hazard Reports as required.
- Respond to emergency site maintenance as required.
- Complete a monthly summary of completed trouble calls and enter data in Navy MAXIMO as required.
- Maintain accurate administrative records.
- Plan and organize work to meet all deadlines.
- Accountable for meeting safety performance standards and completing all work safely.
- Maintain open communication with personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Programs, including but not limited to: Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel.
- Understanding of Government contracts, correspondence, reports, and records.
- Three plus (3+) years of experience in enforcing QMS programs on contracts of similar size, scope and complexity.
- Knowledge of generally accepted standards of workmanship in janitorial and grounds services.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Mature judgment and ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Ability to communicate ideas effectively with personnel at all levels.
- United States Citizen or eligible to work in the United States
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Valid state driver's license with excellent driving record (Must provide current driving record).
- Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
Preferred:
- Two-year degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Quality Control or a related field or broad experience in the same or similar areas.
- Bilingual - English/Spanish.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
- Work hours are subject to change, with overtime, weekend and/or holiday work as needed.
- Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm, diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common cold, influenza, dust odors and elevated noise levels.
- Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time, sit, use of hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear, or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision. May be required to operate regular and specialized vehicles.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders as required.
- Must be able to load/unload materials, tools, and equipment.
- Involves walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
