Salary: The budgeted salary range for the position is $120,000 - $150,000. About the Retzky College of Pharmacy

The UIC Retzky College of Pharmacy is an international leader in pharmaceutical research, education, and clinical practice. Are you a strategic fundraising leader ready to make a transformative impact? Join us as the Senior Director of Development, where you'll play a pivotal role in advancing the mission and priorities of UIC's Retzky College of Pharmacy through philanthropic leadership.

In partnership with the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Advancement and the Dean, you will set ambitious fundraising goals and lead a dynamic team in securing major gifts from alumni and friends. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a college deeply committed to excellence, innovation, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with college and university priorities.
  • Lead efforts to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects and donors.
  • Collaborate closely with academic leaders, faculty, and advancement colleagues to ensure strategic alignment and execution.
  • Champion a culture of philanthropy and donor engagement across the college.
  • Provide visionary leadership and mentorship to development staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of five years of successful and progressively responsible experience in fundraising, business development, and/or related field focused on relationship management.
  • Higher education fundraising experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated skill in achieving alignment, working cross-unit, providing cross-unit, providing active support and close collaboration amongst a broad range of stakeholders in relation to strategic plans and execution.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with academic leaders, faculty, staff, donors, and volunteers.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-based enviroment.
  • Ability to work in highly complex organizational structure.
  • Tolerance for and ability to work productively in the context of ambiguity, uncertainty, and change.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
  • Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and creativity.
  • An understanding of the role of institutional giving and its impact on the community.
  • An understanding of how to leverage institutional giving with other programs to maximize philanthropic activity.
