Join UI Health Care's Marketing and Communications department as a Community Engagement Specialist. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategiceventsand community partnerships that advance health education, strengthen statewide relationships, and elevate the institution's visibility and impact. The role helps tell the story of UI Health Care's commitment to Iowans by connecting people to programs, resources, and opportunities that support better health across the state.

Position Responsibilities:

Message Development and Implementation



  • Assistin developing and delivering communications that promote educational programs and institutional priorities.


  • Support outreach for communitypartnershipinitiatives.


  • Draft materials such as event summaries, partner communications, and promotional content.


  • Coordinate with internal teams to help amplify engagement opportunities and program visibility.



Public Relations



  • Collaborate across departments to support community outreach efforts.


  • Assistthe planning and implementation of virtual, on-campus, andoff campuscommunity education programsand events.


  • Help managelogisticsand communications forspecial eventslike open houses and ribbon cuttings.


  • Promote involvement in events and programs through targeted outreach and messaging.


  • Represent UI Health Care at community activities and maintain engagement with key stakeholders.


  • Provide event support, as needed, to the Event Specialist.



Information Management



  • Support the collection and reporting of outreach-related data.


  • Manageinventory of event collateral and community outreach SWAG


  • Respond to requests and manage UI Health Careevent collateral checkoutprocessand SWAG giveaway requests.


  • Help create presentations and impact summaries that highlight program reach and success.


  • Create surveys, collect,enterand pull program and attendee data using various analytic toolsincluding Net Promoter Score, Qualtrics,Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access Database.


  • Collaborate with UI Health Care department colleagues to gather and accurately record and report UI Health Care community benefit data.


  • Assistin preparing project summary reports, fiscal year-end summaries, and presentations to share our impact and success with constituents and key stakeholders.


  • Contribute to the organization of data and content thatdemonstratethe value of UI Health Care's outreach work.



Strategic Planning



  • Support the execution of outreach and engagement plans that align with department goals.


  • Helpidentifyopportunities for collaboration with community organizations.


  • Assistin evaluating success metrics for community and educational programs.


  • Contribute ideas and insights to department planning discussions.



Financial Responsibility



  • Review and assess sponsorship requests and make recommendationstoleadership.


  • Negotiate sponsorship benefits and value-added opportunities with communitypartners.


  • Monitor community sponsorshipexpenses andprepare reports topresent toleadership.


Supervision/Leadership



  • Provide direction, assignments, and managementofstudent workers as needed.


  • Follow UI and UI Health Care policies and help ensure complianceinall activities.



Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with occasional nights and weekends required

Pay level: 4A

Candidates must meet all required qualifications.

Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any conviction history and will be subject to a criminal background check and credential/education verification. This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization now or in the future.
