We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Director, Engineering Group Leader to join our Engineering team for Enterprise Custody Services Platform. This role is located in New York. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Lead and manage global development teams, ensuring appropriate design, technical capabilities, and resource allocation to meet strategic objectives across the Custody Platforms.
- Provide visionary leadership that drives innovation, strengthens execution, and delivers technology solutions that improve business outcomes, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Champion change management initiatives by fostering innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement in engineering practices, systems, and technology solutions.
- Drive quality and adherence to best practices in the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of systems, platforms, and processes.
- Collaborate with internal partners, stakeholders, and clients to develop and deliver solutions that support revenue growth, enhance client experience, and improve organizational effectiveness.
- Develop and execute group-wide business plans and contribute to firm-wide initiatives aligned with broader organizational goals and strategic priorities.
- Lead risk identification and mitigation efforts across delivery, operations, staffing, and controls, and manage escalations effectively to support strong governance and business continuity.
- Drive recruitment, development, and retention of diverse talent, fostering an inclusive culture that supports professional growth, wellbeing, and long-term organizational success.
- Manage operating budgets, forecast resource needs, and maintain financial discipline to ensure delivery against approved plans and priorities.
- Motivate, coach, and mentor team members to maximize their contributions, strengthen leadership capability, and support ongoing career development.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 15+ years of experience in systems analysis, program development, and technology leadership.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience managing development project teams, preferably within complex, global environments.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale technology initiatives and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated commitment to building an agile, high-performing, and inclusive engineering culture.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in financial services or related industries is a plus.
BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $136,500 and $350,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
