Role Overview

This Regional Sales Director (RSD) is responsible for driving revenue growth, leading a team of Territory Managers, and building a strong, sustainable sales organization. The RSD partners closely with the Area Vice President to translate commercial strategy into disciplined field execution across a defined geography.

Success in this role requires strong people leadership, operational rigor, and the ability to work cross-functionally to ensure regional execution is aligned with enterprise contracting, payer, and key account strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Sales Leadership

  • Own regional sales performance, revenue attainment, and execution against corporate objectives.
  • Partner with the Area Vice President to develop and execute the regional sales strategy and operating plan.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales leaders and Territory Managers to consistently exceed performance expectations.
  • Establish clear sales priorities, execution standards, and accountability across the region.
  • Set, track, and manage key performance indicators to ensure consistent results and timely course correction.

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and sustain high-performing sales teams through disciplined hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development.
  • Coach Territory Managers through regular field engagement, ride-alongs, observation, and timely, actionable performance feedback.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold Territory Managers accountable for core business management responsibilities, including pipeline hygiene, forecasting accuracy, CRM utilization, call planning, and territory execution.
  • Drive consistent sales operating rhythm by reinforcing standard processes for opportunity management, deal progression, and performance tracking.
  • Identify and develop high-potential talent; create clear development plans, readiness assessments, and succession pipelines for critical roles.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, inclusion, collaboration, and continuous improvement, where results and behaviors are equally valued.
  • Hold leaders and Territory Managers accountable for performance outcomes, professional conduct, and alignment with iRhythm values and expectations

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Partnerships Alignment

  • Collaborate with the SHSD & Commercial Partnerships team to drive integrated account strategies, clinical adoption, and sustained customer engagement.
  • Build strong working relationships with Commercial Operations to ensure alignment on sales training, enablement, and readiness for Territory Managers.
  • Partner with Marketing to execute regional market development and demand-generation initiatives that support sales priorities.
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Clinical Operations, and Customer Service to deliver consistent, high-quality customer experience.
  • Provide timely, actionable field insights to internal partners to inform strategy, messaging, and continuous improvement.

Customer & Market Engagement

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, health system leaders, and decision-makers within the region.
  • Represent iRhythm in strategic customer discussions and negotiations, in alignment with approved contracting frameworks.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and healthcare policy changes; adjust regional tactics as needed.
  • Advocate for patient access by ensuring effective adoption and utilization of ZIO services across the region.

Operational & Financial Accountability

  • Oversee day-to-day regional sales operations with a focus on execution excellence and scalability.
  • Own regional forecasting, pipeline management, and performance reporting.
  • Manage regional expense control, compensation guidance, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure consistent execution of sales processes, compliance standards, and field effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in sales leadership roles within healthcare, medical devices, diagnostics, or related industries.
  • Proven success leading teams of Territory Managers and front-line sales leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth through disciplined execution and strong people leadership.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze and act on complex sales and market data.
  • Executive-level communication skills and strong customer presence.
  • Ability to travel up to 70%, based on business needs.

Preferred

  • Experience in cardiology or diagnostics markets.
  • Experience operating within enterprise health systems and complex customer environments.
  • Track record of effective cross-functional collaboration in matrixed organizations.

Actual compensation may vary depending on job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.

Estimated Pay Range

$158,000 - $185,000
