Plant and Department: Shipping& Receiving Clerk

Purpose: Process outbound shipments with speed and accuracy.

Primary Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to: Picking materials and maintaining the associated paperwork without being supervised.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Picks materials, assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment.
* Unloads, receives, unpacks, inspects, and stores incoming materials and supplies.
* Working knowledge of shipping paperwork eg BOL, invoices, receipts, packing slips, etc.
* Verify product identification and product quantities match shipping paperwork.
* Documents damages and discrepancies for future reimbursement and reconciliation.
* Process customer returns and Return Material Authorizations (RMA's)
* Process receipts and postings correctly in Microsoft Dynamics
* Process shipments correctly in carrier specific software (eg UPS, Fedex,..)
* Safely operate forklifts and all other material handling equipment as needed
* Manage space arrangements for incoming shipments in designated storage areas
* Ensure that work areas are organized, clean and tidy at all times.
* Participate in cycle counting and inventory procedures
* Maintained and organize pertinent documents and records
* Achieve personal and department goals for safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
* Attend required meetings and training programs
* Support other shipping functions, departments and teammates as needed

Non-essential Functions
  • Must perform various types of duties assigned by the department Supervisor.
  • Maintain machines, equipment and work area for cleanliness and efficient operation. Must assist with minor maintenance such as painting, oiling, cleaning, and adjustments.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Frequently use hands and fingers to handle, package, label, and move materials.
  • Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Heavier items may require team lifting or mechanical lifting equipment.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, or other warehouse equipment, as authorized and required.
  • Frequently use a computer, barcode scanner, and shipping software to prepare documentation and process shipments.
  • Ability to read shipping documents, labels, packing slips, and inventory records accurately.
  • Work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to moving machinery, forklifts, varying temperatures, dust, and moderate noise levels.
  • Must be able to safely perform all job duties while following company safety policies and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Education:

High School

Working Hours and Conditions, including Travel Required:

Heavy physical demands. Lifting of 44 to 69 lbs. most of the day. High stress depends on production. Optional to wear dust mask due to Nickel, Chrome, Cobalt, Iron, Silicon, and Copper elements.

Ability to calculate and determine exact weights of materials inbound and outbound. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures to daily tasks. Ability to conform to established quality control standards and procedures. Ability to drive stand-up forklifts and sit-down forklifts.
