Job Title: Buyer II Job Location: Austin, TX

Shift Type:

  • 1st shift: 9am - 5pm
  • Hybrid work environment

Candidate Stand-out Criteria:

  • 2 years of backroom logistics experience

Top Technical/Soft Skills:

  • Previous purchasing experience focused on logistics
  • Not a technical role
  • Proficient in Outlook and Excel
  • Open to candidates seeking a career path
  • Strong team players; self-motivated
  • Works well within a 5-person team

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree (4 years)
  • Preferred: Business Finance degree

Industry Background:

  • Experience in purchasing

Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase orders for spare parts, assemblies, and components
  • Analyze and communicate relevant data such as vendor quotes, parts lists, reports, etc.
  • Obtain, evaluate and negotiate bids from suppliers for price, delivery, quality, and terms and conditions
  • Manage open order base to optimize maximum supplier performance
  • Evaluate supplier performance with various rating methods
  • Conduct supplier meetings and business reviews
  • Assist with cost reduction activities
  • Interact effectively with internal and external customers
  • Produce reports, statistics, and strategies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree can be substituted by a minimum of 4 years direct work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience; eight years preferred
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing desired; electronics industry background at a minimum
  • Experience in standard purchasing practices related to associated manufacturing, documents (BOMs, specifications, etc.)
