Job Title: Performance Leader - 2nd shiftReporting To: Production ManagerWork Schedule: Onsite - Buffalo, NYIndustrial Group specializes in developing custom hydraulic and electromechanical precision motion control solutions. Our current customer base includes flight simulation, oil and gas exploration, Mechanical Feedback servo valves and electro-mechanical solutions. The position is geared toward Manufacturing Management l career ladder advancement. The role will lead a group of highly skilled A&T technicians and/or machinists with the goal of delivering quality products in timely manner. As an onsite 2nd Shift Performance Leader in Moog's Industrial Group, you'll report to the Production Manager and will be responsible for multiple areas that are in the operations area, such as: Machine Shop and Assembly & Test Departments. This includes identification, implementation and measurement of short-term department objectives which comply with the overall company strategic plan; motivation and leadership of team members and coordination of support groups to accomplish area objectives. The Performance Leader works with Production Manager to identify areas for lean and other improvement activities to achieve high impact results including increased profitability, productivity and capacity, and reduced internal costs, lead times and inventory. This position offers a 2nd shift, on-site schedule at our East Aurora, NY location, plus a 10% shift differential. As a 2nd Shift Performance Leader, you will.... * Assure maximum utilization and efficiency of personnel and equipment to provide optimum productivity at the least possible cost to meet manufacturing schedules and delivery commitments. * Demonstrates strong self-initiative, operates effectively with minimal oversight, and consistently exercises sound judgment in decision-making * Evaluate personnel within the department for the purposes of (a) probationary employee reports, (b) job posting and (c) expectation conversations. Assist department personnel in goal and expectation setting. * Maintain competent and effective work group by providing technical assistance and instructions, training, developing, motivating, and counseling subordinates. Ensure good housekeeping and safe working conditions within the section(s) to provide a pleasant working environment, limit job injuries, and reduce lost time. Inspect the area daily for unsafe working conditions, signs of equipment breakdown, and general untidiness. * Ensure accurate production records within the department by maintaining employee time reports and recording accurate attendance and overtime equalization reports. Provide good company/employee relations within section(s) by administering all personnel policies fairly and consistently * Handle all employee relations issues before they become major challenges. * Account for deviant parts produced within his/her section(s) by issuing Material Scrap Notices (MSN) and Material Disposition Reports (MDR) and suggesting more efficient manufacturing methods. * Assist in optimizing production standard performance within his/her section(s) by investigating reasons for variances from standards and initiating appropriate changes. To be considered for this role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you..... * Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (or equivalent experience) and five years of directly related production experience with prior leadership responsibilities OR associate's degree in a related discipline and ten years of directly related production experience with leadership responsibilities * Working knowledge of functional manufacturing activities and supporting departments * Demonstrated leadership capability, sound judgment, strong organization skills, and excellent communication * Ability to define and prioritize operational goals * Proven ability to build strong teamwork within the department and across supporting functions * This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
