QUALITY ASSURANCE LEAD

GENERAL FUNCTION: Assists in the management of the quality assurance program to ensure that products meet or exceed regulatory and Company standards and requirements. Supervises quality assurance inspectors.

TYPICAL DUTIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.

• Prepares and maintains a written quality control program that meets company standards governing codes and regulations.
• Informs production personnel of regulatory changes.
• Conducts audits to prevent quality problems, identifies areas of concern, and instructs production personnel in proper procedures.
• Participates in customer inspections of manufacturing operations.
• Releases new products for shipment following final inspections.
• Compiles data regularly to ensure design will meet design criteria at delivery.
• Ensures quality by planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Implements in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods and devising testing methods and procedures.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Considerable knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering and practices as applicable to division products.
• Considerable knowledge of welding processes.
• Good knowledge of measuring devices and tools and the ability to instruct inspectors on the proper operation.
• Ability to supervise and achieve quality assurance programs that ensure product integrity.
• Ability to interface effectively with all levels of personnel, customers, and regulatory agents.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Associate's Degree in production management, industrial technology or related areas and extensive experience in product inspection duties combined with a minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
