Job Summary

You will be performing daily chemical analysis, Monitor and control bath chemistry (pH, temperature, concentration, titration levels). Maintain all process documentation and production records. Troubleshoots control panels, error lights and messages to ensure proper equipment function. May communicate with equipment technicians relating to highly complex issues. Operate and maintain zinc phosphate plating baths and rinse tanks for conductivity

  • Performs manual tasks according to established procedures


Essential Functions

  • Controls equipment and systems that process chemical substances and materials into products.
  • Operates equipment and monitors the chemical and production process to ensure efficient and safe output.
  • Follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing.
  • Troubleshoots problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed.
  • Enters required production data and information into logs.
  • May unload or move materials.
  • Follows all procedures for safe chemical handling and required safety gear.


Required Qualifications

  • Required education and experience: High School Diploma/GED required and 2-4 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Equipment Operation. Material Handling. Quality Inspection. Record Keeping. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). System Monitoring. Troubleshooting.


Physical Requirements

  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
  • This position is Safety-Sensitive.
