About the Role:

We are seeking an Account Manager, Health, to retain, grow, and expand our institutional customer base across the health sector in the Americas. In this highly autonomous role, you will oversee a portfolio of healthcarerelated accounts, driving renewals, upselling and crossselling Wiley's journal and nonjournal portfolio, and winning new business across the region. You will work closely with crossfunctional teams globally, leveraging data, market insights, and strong customer relationships to ensure Wiley continues to deliver meaningful value to Health customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage a portfolio of institutional Health customers, including ongoing account planning that balances retention with growth
  • Renew and renegotiate journal and nonjournal agreements to maintain strong revenue retention and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Upsellexisting accounts by expanding usage, increasing tier or coverage, and growing the value of current journal and nonjournal subscriptions
  • CrosssellWiley's broader portfolio into existing accounts, identifying opportunities to introduce additional nonjournal solutions beyond the customer's current footprint
  • Drivenew businessby prospecting and converting target institutions that are not yet Wiley customers, building pipeline and closing firsttime deals
  • Analyze usage trends and customer data to assess account health, mitigate risk, and inform proactive engagement strategies
  • Provide timely, effective responses to customer questions and issues, strengthening longterm relationships and defending revenue
  • Conduct indepth customer research and gather market insights to tailor your outreach and elevate customer conversations
  • Facilitate datadriven negotiations that align stakeholders and deliver successful contract outcomes
  • Partner with internal teams across time zones to support customer needs and maintain accurate CRM documentation
  • Delegate smaller renewals and administrative tasks to Sales Coordinators to ensure efficient focus on strategic activities
  • Serve as subject matter expert for specialized product lines or vertical market segments
  • Lead complex product demonstrations and technical presentations to prospective customers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and industry influencers within specialty areas
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to influence product roadmap and feature development
  • Conduct market analysis and competitive intelligence gathering within assigned specialty areas
  • Support development of specialized sales strategies and go-to-market plans
  • Lead participation in industry conferences, trade shows, and professional association events
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to specialized training and development programs
  • Develop specialized sales materials, case studies, and technical documentation
  • Support pricing strategies and proposal development for complex specialized solutions
  • Coordinate with customer success teams to ensure optimal implementation and customer satisfaction
  • Contribute to thought leadership activities including webinars, white papers, and industry publications

Required Qualifications:

  • A four-year undergraduate degree
  • 3+ years of institutional sales experience in health, ideally within publishing, information services, or technology
  • Demonstrated track record of growing accounts and winning new business, not just managing renewals
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationshipbuilding capabilities
  • Ability to work independently, manage your own territory, and operate with resilience under pressure
  • Strong crossfunctional collaboration skills, especially across multiple time zones
  • A selfmotivated, datadriven, customercentric approach to achieving results

We are committed to fair, transparent pay, and we strive to provide competitive compensation in addition to a comprehensive benefits package. The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the United Kingdom, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
