Referral Coordinator (Healthcare) Lakewood, CO (On-Site) About the Role A busy and growing cardiovascular clinic is seeking a Referral Coordinator to join their team. This role is essential in ensuring patients receive timely care by coordinating referrals, verifying insurance, and working closely with both internal teams and external provider offices. Key Responsibilities * Obtain referrals from primary care physicians for all scheduled patient visits * Verify insurance coverage and ensure all required documentation is complete * Coordinate and schedule incoming referrals across multiple clinic locations * Monitor provider schedules for add-on appointments requiring referrals * Act as a liaison between patients, referring physician offices, and insurance carriers * Collaborate with front desk and billing teams to ensure seamless patient care * Communicate clearly with internal departments to resolve referral or authorization issues What You Bring * At least 1 year of customer-facing experience (healthcare, retail, administrative, etc.) * Strong communication and customer service skills * Comfort working with multi-line phone systems * High level of organization and attention to detail * Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment * High School Diploma or GED Nice to Have * Experience in a healthcare setting (front desk, scheduling, etc.) * Familiarity with EMR systems (Epic preferred) * Administrative or data entry experience Work Environment & Schedule * On-site role based in Lakewood, CO * Clinic setting with a fast-paced, team-oriented environment * Full-time, 8-hour shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM (flexibility required) Why This Role Stands Out * Strong training and development program * Collaborative, supportive team environment * Opportunity to gain valuable experience in a specialized healthcare setting * High-impact role supporting patient care and clinic operations Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Golden, CO. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
