Manager - Donor Relations

The Manager - Donor Relations position is responsible for implementing and expanding fundraising efforts to support the Ecumen St. Benedict's Communities in St. Cloud, Monticello, and Sartell. This position will be responsible for building a culture of philanthropy, implementing the annual Team Member Campaign, building relationships with residents, family members, and grateful patients, and making annual solicitations of those individuals. This position will also be responsible for enhancing community engagement and inspiring trust by fostering partnerships, soliciting sponsorships, and participating in outreach events to increase Ecumen's visibility.

Pay:

The targeted pay range for this job is $85,000 - $95,000 per year. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Leads fundraising efforts for Ecumen's St. Benedict's Communities (SBC), serving as the primary solicitor for individual donations. Works closely with the Shoreview office on soliciting donations and sponsorships from corporations, foundations, local businesses, and organizations in the local community.

2. Builds and manages a portfolio of donors and prospects, including completing discovery work, soliciting annual and major gifts, and stewarding relationships. Works with the Director - Individual Donor Relations on securing high-level planned gifts for the Ecumen community.

3. Builds a culture of philanthropy at the communities by establishing positive long-term relationships with residents, families, team members, and others through one-on-one meetings, phone calls, and customized communications, including tailored major gift proposals. Meets annual moves management goals and tracks all interactions in Raiser's Edge.

4. Organizes cultivation and fundraising events that promote connection, recognition, and solicitation of current and prospective donors, as well as local vendors and businesses.

5. Assists the Executive Directors of each community with their respective Advisory Councils and encourages members to assist in philanthropic and/or volunteer efforts.

6. Represents Ecumen through local speaking engagements that enhance brand recognition, builds relationships, and increases the base of donors and volunteers. Partners with local community groups and key referral sources such as local Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Senior Centers, and Civic Organizations.

7. Partners with crossdepartmental leaders to align donor relations strategies with Ecumen priorities, including organizational growth and community outreach.

Driving Requirements: Local travel required, ability to travel up to 20% of the time, outside of normal commute to the three SBC sites.

Work Location: Hybrid, on-site at St. Cloud, Monticello and Sartell locations 3 days a week with the ability to work up to 1-2 days per week remote

Manager - Donor Relations Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university/college
  • 5 years of professional fundraising experience with a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization
  • Proven track record of soliciting gifts and stewarding donor relationships
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar CRM software
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Advanced degree and/or Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)
  • Membership with the Association of Fundraising Professionals or the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar CRM software
  • Previous experience in senior healthcare
