Job Title: Field Engineer 4

Location(s): Menands, NY

Job Summary:
Seeking a Field Computer Technician to provide onsite break-fix support for laptops and desktops across the metro and surrounding areas. Responsibilities include hardware replacement, diagnostics, repairs, and ticket management using a company-provided phone. Candidates must have reliable transportation and strong customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform onsite laptop and desktop break-fix repairs.
• Replace hardware components including:
  • Motherboards
  • Hard drives
  • Keyboards
  • LCD screens
• Conduct whole-unit swaps and peripheral replacements.
• Diagnose Dell laptops and PCs.
• Close service tickets in real time using the Client Call Management system.
• Travel daily to customer locations within assigned territory.

Required Qualifications:

• 1+ years of hands-on laptop/desktop repair experience.
• Experience diagnosing Dell laptops and desktops.
• Experience replacing motherboards and LCDs.
• General hardware/software troubleshooting knowledge.
• Basic Microsoft application knowledge.
• Ability to resolve basic to moderate technical issues.
• Must own a reliable vehicle with active car insurance.
• Must be willing to travel extensively throughout the day.
• A+ Certification required
  • Candidates without certification must obtain it within 90 days of start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Computer-building background.
• Previous field technician experience.

Screening Requirements:

• Ability to complete required Dell product training/certifications.
• Ability to pass background and drug screening.
• Client/government clearance may be required.
• Criminal background verification may be required.

Important Notes:

• Vaccination is not required.
• Mileage during work hours is reimbursed per standard policy.
• Commute mileage to/from home is not reimbursed.
• Overtime may be required.
• Dell certifications are completed at no cost to the candidate after selection.
• Weekly Mileage: 250-350 miles/week.
