TSC's Production Division is looking for an NPI Engineering Technician - Electrical Focus, based in Huntsville, AL (Discovery). This group provides products and services in the areas of radar, communication systems, sensors, antennas and other electronics systems to the missile, radar/sensor system, communications, control systems, data acquisition, and signal processing markets. The company has developed products ranging from chip-level, application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC) to complete, turnkey radar and communication systems. TSC has established a state-of-the-art hardware capability that is well respected by customers in Government and industry. TSC also provides full spectrum systems engineering support including theoretical analysis, requirements generation, interface control, and test planning/execution/data analysis.

As an NPI Engineering Technician - Electrical Focus at TSC, you'll be a key hands-on contributor to new product introduction efforts, working alongside Manufacturing Engineering, the Design/R&D Engineering team, and Operations to support board-level bring-up, sub-assembly integration, test bench and rack assembly, and test process validation from early prototype through production readiness. Responsibilities:

  • Support board-level bring-up, debug, and sub-assembly integration activities under engineering guidance
  • Assemble, wire, configure, and validate test benches, test racks, interface panels, and cable sets used in engineering and production readiness activities
  • Execute test procedures, capture data, document anomalies, and provide clear feedback to Engineering on repeatability and observed failure modes
  • Troubleshoot hardware and test issues down to the board, cable, or subsystem level as appropriate
  • Build and inspect cable assemblies and harnesses; support continuity checks, labeling, and troubleshooting
  • Support creation and refinement of manufacturing and test documentation including work instructions, test procedures, setup guides, and as-built records
  • Support Production Readiness Review (PRR) preparation by identifying equipment and test readiness gaps, collecting readiness evidence, and contributing inputs to NPI readiness checklists and workbook artifacts
  • Set up, verify, and maintain common bench test equipment including multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
  • Maintain strong workmanship, ESD, FOD, safety, and calibration awareness in lab and production environments
  • Provide surge support for assembly, cable builds, and prototype integration as needed
  • Cross-train with and serve as backup to the NPI Engineering Technician - Mechanical Focus

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and 4+ years of relevant electronics, test, or manufacturing technician experience; or Associate degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field and 3+ years; or Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and 1+ years
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical assembly, cable and harness work, electronics integration, test setup, troubleshooting, or debug
  • Strong familiarity with electrical hand tools and lab equipment including crimpers, wire prep tools, soldering equipment, multimeters, and power supplies
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and test procedures
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting NPI, pilot builds, first article testing, or production readiness activities
  • Experience contributing to production readiness reviews, or equipment and test readiness closure
  • Experience creating or refining test procedures, setup guides, and work instructions
  • Experience with test bench or rack assembly, validation, and operator-use optimization
  • Familiarity with IPC standards including IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or IPC-7711/7721
  • Experience with RF hardware, coaxial cable assemblies, and RF bench practices
  • Experience in an aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Active DoD security clearance
