Application Programmer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Hadoop Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC or Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

As a mid to senior-level Hadoop Developer, you will design, develop, and optimize Big Data solutions using the Hadoop ecosystem to efficiently process large-scale datasets. This role involves the full development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment, within an Agile team environment. You will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing Hadoop/Spark applications while troubleshooting data issues and supporting production environments.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the full development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, development, documentation, testing, and deployment
• Develop, test, and optimize Hadoop/Spark applications
• Troubleshoot data issues and support production environments
• Interact regularly with local manager, Agile team members, and business stakeholders
• Assist the production support team as needed to resolve critical issues

Requirements:

• Experience as a mid to senior-level Hadoop Developer
• Ability to design, develop, and optimize Big Data solutions using the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, Spark)
• Strong ETL, Big Data-Hadoop, and SQL testing expertise
• Solid knowledge of Spark development including performance optimization and troubleshooting
• Experience with Unix, Data Warehousing, scheduling tools, and scripting
• Excellent data and code analysis capabilities, including troubleshooting data quality and integrity issues
• Experience working in Agile teams
• Good understanding of Bit Bucket, Gradle, Jenkins, Ansible and CI-CD pipeline

Desired skills:

• Ability to lead small initiatives
• Ability to promote best practices in software development and testing across the team

Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
