Lead Feature Engineering / MLOps Engineer - Onsite

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Lead Feature Engineering / MLOps Engineer - Onsite for a 12+ month contract to hire opportunity with a Major Financial Institution located in Pittsburgh, PA.

We are seeking a Lead Feature Engineering / MLOps Engineer to drive the architecture, standards, and strategy for an enterprise machine learning platform. This is a hands-on engineering leadership role focused on scalable ML data systems and feature platforms. You will lead the design and delivery of feature engineering pipelines and support a growing engineering team.

Responsibilities:

• Define and drive feature engineering and MLOps strategy
• Architect enterprise-scale feature pipelines (batch and real-time)
• Establish standards, governance, and reusable data/feature frameworks
• Oversee delivery of engineering backlog and priorities
• Act as technical decision-maker and escalation point
• Lead adoption of feature stores and reusable feature models
• Ensure alignment across engineering, platform, and ML teams
• Manage and mentor senior and junior engineers
• Support production releases and operational excellence, including participation in monthly off-hours releases

Requirements:

• 10-15+ years in Data Engineering, ML Engineering, or Platform Engineering
• 3-5+ years in a technical leadership or lead role
• Experience building and scaling enterprise ML platforms
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, Spark, and Hive
• Experience with MLOps pipeline architecture, OpenShift, Git, Linux, and CI/CD ecosystems
• Deep knowledge of distributed data systems design and real-time & batch pipeline architecture
• Experience with data governance, lineage, standardization, platform scalability, and performance optimization
• Ability to define an engineering roadmap and feature platform vision
