The UHS Corporate Compliance Department is hiring a Program Director - Regional Compliance Officer to provide ethics, healthcare, and regulatory support for UHS and its subsidiary healthcare operations for an assigned regional area comprised of numerous acute care hospitals and behavioral health facilities. This role will aslo respond to issues involving healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse laws; general billing, coding and reimbursement; physician compensation compliance; conflicts of interest; quality and patient care matters.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Supports Facility Compliance Officers (FCOs) in their individual roles to conduct investigations and implement appropriate corrective actions. Serves as a trusted coach, counselor and resource for ongoing compliance questions or concerns. Serves as the point person for all compliance matters in assigned region

  • Conduct compliance auditing and monitoring activities in assigned region. Collect data supporting these activities, reports findings to key leaders, follows up on corrective action to ensure improvements are made

  • Create, deploy, and coordinate compliance education and training activities across assigned region including revisions concerning government announcements, changes in healthcare regulation, and changes to compliance processes in assigned region

  • Perform other duties as assigned/required. May participate in compliance activities outside of assigned region, as necessary, to support the overall UHS Compliance Program


Qualifications

Master's degree preferred with 8-10 years' experience in a role supporting healthcare regulatory compliance.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory compliance generally and including but not limited to fraud waste and abuse laws, general knowledge of billing and coding requirements and physician compensation issues, conflicts of interest and general healthcare compliance matters

  • Self-motivated, organized and able to function successfully in fast-paced, high volume work environment in publicly traded, Fortune 300 healthcare company. Candidate shall possess appropriate professional demeanor and be comfortable communicating regularly with C-suite level healthcare executives

  • Proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook. Role will require extensive use of SharePoint audit and monitoring platform and compliance databases

  • Travel required up to 5% if necessary
