What to Expect
The Material Planning group in Supply Chain is responsible for the reliable and efficient flow of all production materials to Tesla's factories and Service locations. The returnable packaging team is managing packaging assets that are used to move parts between suppliers and Tesla factories.
Process Engineer, CMC is responsible for execution of returnable transport packaging (RTP) container flow design, analyzing and optimizing container conveyance to support material handling, production, warehouse, layouts, and processes related to production of all Tesla products. We are looking for a talented and highly motivated individual who can create systematic workflows to unlock efficient material flows, drives business process, high throughput capabilities and operating models throughout our organization. Successful members of the team will be highly proactive and self-sufficient in pursuing improvement projects, be able to multitask and refocus efforts immediately to meet constantly shifting demands in a fast-paced environment and have exceptional organizational skills to coordinate changes with all affected teams.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with stakeholder teams to prioritize and maximize operational efficiency of container management center
- Design and optimize material and returnable transport packaging (RTP) flow, facility layouts by analyzing buffer sizes using process modeling
- Lead and own PFEP standardization and adoption of processes through the entire value stream of material flow
- Develop simulation models for processes for receiving, staging for shipping
- Analyze and improve container flow processes from the network of production facilities to container management center (CMC) warehouse
- Work with 3PL logistics provider to ensure process improvements are being executed to the expected levels
Develop business cases for improvement projects with a focus on workforce planning andmanagement and create documentation for training materials such as job cards, standard work, and standard operatingprocedures
What You'll Bring
- Degree in industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- 2+ years of experience in managing supply chain operations, logistics, or manufacturing
- Knowledge of lean principles, logistics business systems, pre-determined motion and time standards
- Previous experience in a high velocity warehouse or production setting preferred
- Advanced skills in Excel, SQL or other analytical tools for data mining and analysis
- Demonstrated talent for implementing process flow improvements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, or similar 2D CAD software
