High School Teacher 5/14/2026 Rogers High School 26/27 SCHOOL YEAR OPEN UNTIL FILLED Posting: AP7548 EXTERNAL APPLICANTS WILL BE GIVEN CONSIDERATION ONCE THE INTERNAL BIDDING PROCESS HAS BEEN COMPLETED. The Puyallup Open Doors team is looking for an enthusiastic Math teacher to work with a group of students in a nontraditional learning environment at Rogers High School. The Open Doors program is designed to help re-engage students who have previously become disenchanted and disengaged from the traditional school setting. Students in this program may work toward completing their high school diploma requirements or earning their GED. Students enrolled in the program have the opportunity to connect with their teacher both in person and virtually through Teams. While direct instruction is not delivered virtually, the hybrid support model provides increased flexibility and allows staff to better meet the needs of students who may struggle with consistent in person attendance. The teacher for this position will be based at the Rogers High School Open Doors campus. This is a 0.6 position with a unique and flexible schedule designed to support both student engagement and collaboration with the broader Open Doors team. Monday through Thursday, the teacher will work directly with students from Rogers High School and the surrounding community. On Fridays, the teacher will travel to Walker High School during the first two periods of the day to support students virtually and collaborate with the larger Puyallup Open Doors team through PLC and program planning work. This position is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys working with a unique student population and designing creative interventions that help students achieve academic success, reconnect to school, and work toward graduation or GED completion. The ideal candidate will value relationship-based instruction, flexibility, collaboration, and innovative approaches to supporting students in alternative education settings. If you are passionate about helping students overcome barriers and find success through individualized support and meaningful connections, we encourage you to apply. Breakdown:
