Texas Oncology/Texas Breast Specialists South Austin is looking for a Surgical Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Breast Specialists team! This full-time role supports the South Austin location with occasional coverage for the San Marcos location a few times per month. Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm with no call, weekends, or major holidays!! This position will be either a level 1, 2 or Sr based on candidate experience. We are expanding our Texas Breast Specialists APP team to support continued growth, enhance patient access, and improve overall flow. (including but not limited to) Under supervision or in collaboration with surgical attending physicians, the Surgical Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers care in an outpatient clinic setting or a combination of outpatient clinic and hospital/operating room (hybrid) setting. This role focuses on the evaluation, education, and longitudinal management of patients undergoing surgical care; including but not limited to surgical consultation, pre-operative preparation, hospital/intraoperative assistance (hybrid role only), and post-operative follow-up. The APP functions as a direct caregiver, patient educator, first assist in the OR (hybrid role only), and care coordinator; ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care across the surgical continuum. Qualifications The ideal candidate for the Surgical Advanced Practice Provider position will have the following background and experience: Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. Level 1 is entry-level and typically requires a minimum of 0-3 years of experience, preferably a surgical or outpatient care setting. Level 2 requires a minimum of 3 years of experience. Level Sr requires 6 years of experience. Registered Nurse First Assistant (RFA/RFNA) certification required (hybrid role only). RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required. OR Physician Assistant Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification. Level 1 is entry-level and typically requires 0-3 years of experience, preferably a surgical or outpatient care setting. Level 2 requires 3 years of experience. Level Sr requires 6 years of experience. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
