Business Development Manager (Government Sales)

You will be instrumental in accelerating market penetration and serving as a trusted advisor, from initial consultation to successful deployment and beyond.

This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) with flexible work hours. It requires occasional travel (25-40%) for customer visits, conferences, vehicle demonstrations, trade shows, Fire & Rescue industry events, and key customer engagements throughout assigned territories.

Primary Duties

• Act as the primary subject matter expert for vehicle requirements, fleet operations, and mission-specific applications within fire and public service agencies.
• Drive business development initiatives by proactively identifying and advancing new opportunities across local, state, and federal agencies.
• Provide critical insights into procurement trends, operational needs, and competitive offerings to enhance market penetration and competitive strategy.
• Build and maintain strong credibility and trust with law enforcement customers through demonstrated industry experience and deep domain knowledge.
• Cultivate and leverage established relationships with government and fleet decision-makers to foster strong customer engagement and support sales efforts.
• Offer comprehensive post-sales guidance to ensure seamless vehicle deployment, effective upfitting coordination, and sustained lifecycle satisfaction for our public safety clients.
• Collaborate closely with internal sales teams to ensure our solutions are perfectly aligned with the evolving needs of law enforcement customers.
• Elevate the overall customer experience, providing expert consultation from the pre-sale phase through post-delivery support.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Extensive professional experience in fire and public safety fleet operations.
• Demonstrated industry expertise and established credibility within fire or public service agencies.
• Proven ability to build and leverage strong relationships with government and fleet decision-makers at municipal, state, and federal levels.
• Track record of successfully supporting business development and market expansion initiatives.
• Deep understanding of public sector procurement processes, law enforcement vehicle requirements, and operational constraints.
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels.
