Summary/Objective The primary role of the Lab Technician is to maintain the E-Coat system tanks, pre-treat and paint process tanks. Keep chemical composition of each tank with a range called out in the specs. He/She maintains all records of chemical levels, adds, temp and PH range required in each tank. The Lab Technician can expect to spend the majority of their time on the plant floor doing work that requires standing or walking. Moderate exposure to chemicals, noise, and non-weather humid conditions can be expected. The Lab Technician reports to the Coatings Production Supervisor. Supervisory Responsibility No Supervisory role Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, stand, bend, lift, and move continually during working hours. Is subject to lifting over 50 pounds. This position can involve sitting for various periods of time, and also requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching throughout the day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday and some weekends.
