POSITION SUMMARY

The Information Governance Analyst is a key role that is responsible for supporting a broad range of projects and initiatives to improve the adoption of proper electronic record keeping practices. This position will be responsible for supporting several aspects of data lifecycle management for the firm. This position is also responsible for gathering and processing information, organizing and prioritizing work, as well as effective use of firm's records system. High level of interaction and internal and external clients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consults with and supports practice areas to drive adoption of electronic governance and recordkeeping practices.
  • Create/Maintain/Edit client files in accordance with the Information Governance Retention Policy of the firm in department database.
  • Coordinates with external parties to facilitate the secure transfer of data as part of lateral attorney on-boarding and off-boarding.
  • Research and assists with the implementation of new and existing records retention periods.
  • Assists with processing legal holds and preservation of data requests related to client and firm related matters.
  • Assists with analyzing, implementing, and auditing access controls to meet client security requirements.
  • Retrieve and reference on-site and/or off-site materials for users including telephone/email requests.
  • Perform other duties and projects as requested.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree or 2+ years of law firm experience required. Bachelor's degree or combination college plus 4+ years of law firm experience preferred.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of fundamental Information Governance concepts and processes required.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements, data privacy, and security frameworks preferred.
  • Broad knowledge and experience with Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 platforms including iManage and IRM preferred.
  • This is an in-office role and will be expected to be in the office 5 days per week.
