POSITION SUMMARY The Assistant Managing Clerk is responsible for maintaining case deadlines in an automated docketing system, researching and retrieving docket sheets and related pleadings, submitting electronic filings, and providing guidance and information on local rules and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review court documents and correspondence and accurately calendar deadlines in the Firm's automated docketing system.
- Review and interpret civil and criminal rules of procedure in state and federal courts.
- Research and copy court docket sheets, pleadings, orders, and opinions locally and nationwide upon request of attorney and/or paralegal.
- Reviews electronic filings for compliance with applicable rules and requirements and submits filings in a timely manner.
- Notify attorneys of filing deadlines, court appearances, and depositions.
- Communicate court filing procedures, local rules, and individual judges' rules to attorneys, secretaries, and paralegals.
- Generate reports for attorneys, paralegals, and staff.
- Coordinate service of process of summonses or subpoenas for ex., as needed.
- File court documents at local courthouses as needed.
- Support Managing Clerk and Docket Attorney in all aspects of department responsibilities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3+ of litigation docketing experience in a Managing Clerk's office or law firm setting. Experience with CompuLaw preferred.
- Must live within a commutable distance to the firm office with the ability to come into the office 3-4 days per week.

- Must be able to organize, prioritize, and complete numerous tasks in accordance with deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required to effectively communicate with a diverse group of attorneys and staff.
- Ability to solve problems by choosing among clear-cut alternatives necessary.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively with limited supervision.
- Work occasionally requires more than normally scheduled work hours to assist with electronic filings.

SALARY New York based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $96,000 - $107,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, market data and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
