About the Role Hybrid in NYC with Occasional Travel
Portfolio Required We're looking for a fast, resourceful, and editorially sharp Social Content Editor to support executive social media content for a high level leader. This role is deeply focused on post-production-transforming raw footage into high-impact, platform-native content with strong pacing, storytelling, and polish. You'll operate as a highly autonomous editor in a fast-paced, high-trust environment where speed and editorial judgment are critical. You should be just as comfortable cutting a compelling sizzle reel on your phone between meetings as you are building a refined edit at your desk. With minimal production support, success in this role depends on your ability to take raw inputs and independently craft them into engaging, finished content. The content strategy will continue to evolve, so you should be excited by iteration, experimentation, and owning the editorial voice across platforms. What You'll Do * Lead the end-to-end editing process for short-form social content, including sizzle reels, talking heads, interviews, and event recaps * Rapidly transform raw footage into polished, engaging edits with strong narrative structure, pacing, and tone * Operate as a highly independent editor-capturing footage when needed, but primarily focused on editing and post-production * Optimize edits for multiple social platforms, tailoring pacing, framing, hooks, and formats to maximize performance * Add motion graphics, text overlays, captions, and visual treatments that enhance clarity, engagement, and storytelling * Develop repeatable editing styles, templates, and visual systems to streamline production and maintain consistency * Maintain fast turnaround times while upholding high editorial standards and attention to detail * Partner directly with stakeholders, incorporating feedback quickly and translating direction into strong editorial output * Continuously refine the editing approach as the content strategy and audience evolve What You Bring * 5-7 years of experience in video editing with a strong focus on short-form, fast-turnaround social content * Exceptional editing skills-your work demonstrates sharp instincts for pacing, storytelling, timing, and audience engagement * Advanced proficiency in mobile editing tools (e.g., CapCut, InShot, Adobe Rush) and desktop software (e.g., Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) * Proven ability to take unstructured or raw footage and independently craft compelling, narrative-driven edits * Strong understanding of what makes content perform across different platforms, with the ability to edit natively for each * Comfort capturing usable footage on a smartphone when needed, though your primary strength is in post-production * Experience working on executive, public-facing, or high-visibility content where tone and precision matter * Working knowledge of motion graphics, text animation, and basic design principles * Self-starter mindset-you can manage your own editing pipeline and make decisions quickly without heavy oversight * Ability to maintain a polished, professional, and neutral tone across all content Nice to Have * Experience editing for public figures, influencer content, or high-profile social accounts * Experience with advanced motion graphics or animation workflows * Strong intuition for viral formats, hooks, and retention strategies in short-form video *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. If eligible, the benefits available for this temporary role may include the following: * Medical, dental & vision * Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital * 401(k) Retirement Plan - Pre-tax and Roth post-tax contributions available * Life Insurance (Voluntary Life & AD&D for the employee and dependents) * Short and long-term disability * Health Spending Account (HSA) * Transportation benefits * Employee Assistance Program * Time Off/Leave (PTO, Vacation or Sick Leave) *Workplace Type*This is a hybrid position in New York,NY. *Application Deadline*This position is anticipated to close on Jun 26, 2026.
