Inova Clinical Applications is looking for a dedicated Epic Clinical Designer to join the Team. This full-time hybrid role will be day-shift working Monday - Friday.

The Epic Clinical Designer will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication and collaboration among project managers, trainers, and build analysts. They will act as a bridge between the clinical and IT sides of the organization, ensuring that projects are executed smoothly and efficiently. This position is key to maintaining strong relationships and driving successful outcomes in healthcare technology initiatives.

Epic Clinical Designer Responsibilities:

  • Leads and mentors a team of Application/System Analysts, ensuring they are well-supported, and equipped to deliver high-quality work.

  • Oversees the planning and execution of application projects, ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to timelines, and alignment with organizational goals. Collaborates with team members and manager to develop detailed project plans, including tasks, resource allocation, and estimates.

  • Maintains clear and consistent communication with IT management, other Applications teams, and end-users regarding project updates, issues, and priorities. Actively participates in virtual meetings, using video conferencing tools to foster strong relationships, promote effective communication, and enhance team collaboration. Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and customer-focused service. Identify and facilitate solutions to challenges, acting as a liaison between the team and the manager. Regularly provide performance updates and escalate issues requiring higher-level attention.

  • Monitors and evaluates team performance, identifying areas for improvement and collaborating with manager on implementing strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency. Provides input to leadership on staff performance and make recommendations for staff development and training.

  • Leads the team in resolving application-related issues, ensuring problems are addressed promptly and effectively by providing solutions and escalating problems to the manager when necessary. Work closely with Epic and IT department resources to ensure that resolutions meet both Epic standards and internal policies.

  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement within the team and the broader IT department. Works with team members and leadership to implement changes that enhance the effectiveness of the Applications team.

  • Works closely with IT leaders and other relevant departments to support application-related decisions, ensuring that all recommendations align with organizational needs and budget considerations.

  • Oversees and assists team members in assigned functional area, which may include but not limited to, ensuring team is meeting key-deliverables and quality standards, addressing and resolving challenges, managing and tracking performance, and assisting in time management and scheduling; escalates issues to senior leaders as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree; or Associate's degree and 2 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required; or HS Diploma/GED and 4 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required
  • Experience: 6 years of project experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility, within an Epic or healthcare IT environment.
  • Certification: Epic certification required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous project management experience within Epic preferred.

This position is eligible for remote work for candidates residing in the following states - VA, MD, DC, DE, FL, GA, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, WV.
