JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The College of Engineering is seeking applicants for part-time job of Liberatory Tech RA for research on AI and Black Digital Archives.

Job duties to include:

  • Work with Dr. Dancy and other members of the Liberatory Tech Project within the Center for Black Digital Research
  • Perform work on projects that use a critical AI lens for research on human-AI systems with Black Digital Archives
  • Work with graduate students currently in LibTech to develop critical, human-centered ways to interact with AI augmented data annotation tools for archives
  • Use perspectives from Critical Black studies and the Black radical tradition to develop studies to understand how the conceptual underpinnings of Blackness may mediate behavior during human-AI interaction in particular digital archival annotation tools and the implications of this mediation for interface development
