The Director, Ambulatory Access is responsible for the administrative, operational and financial performance of UVA scheduling Pods. This role is the accountable leader for the development and implementation of infrastructure design, systems and workflow processes to facilitate an effective and efficient scheduling process across ambulatory clinics and procedural areas that span a variety of clinical services and service lines within the Health system. This role is also responsible and accountable for improved patient and physician satisfaction specific to access, increased team member engagement amongst access team members and increased clinical revenue. Additional responsibilities include the implementation of access standards and training programs to harmonize the scheduling function and remove unintended variations in the process to ensure the alignment of patient access activities across the Health System.
The Director ensures scheduling service line teams (Pods) meet or exceed performance standards through close collaboration and partnership with service line and other administrative and physician leaders, as well as key support functions, such as Revenue Cycle, HIT, School of Medicine and other stakeholders across the health system for all access-related concerns.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Master's degree required; a combination of relevant experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree requirement. Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience, to include 4+ years of formal management experience. Licensure: None. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
