Summary: Oversees the pre-award and post-award activities for a centralized unit. Manages the departmental proposals prior to submission ensuring all applications meet University policy & Federal regulations. Manages Pre-Award and Post-award activities including facilitate the progress of the sponsored project ensuring project funding. This position will supervise staff. Responsibilities: 1. Management of State Contracts - Maintains principle authority and accountability for the administration of contracts with the State of North Carolina and their associated pre and post award processes. 5. Compliance Management - Manage compliance issues related to reporting, time-tracking and cost sharing/cost matching. Oversee financial and regulatory compliance for departmental research and interpret rule and procedures to faculty/staff. 6. Policy Development - Establishes and enforces departmental standards, policies and controls related to sponsored research in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Research & Finance. Interprets and integrates all applicable policies and serves as liaison between key stakeholders to prevent/resolve areas of concern. Standardize the proposal & award management process across the department and document all processes.

Education may be substituted with relevant experience at a rate of two (2) years of experience for one (1) year of education. For example, a bachelor's degree (4 years) may be met with 8 years of related experience, or a combination of both on a prorated basis.
