It designs and develops comprehensive investment management solutions customized to meet the investment objectives for clients. These solutions bring together state-of-the-art techniques for multi-asset portfolio design and implementation and reflect proprietary research and analytics conducted by the MAS team. We are seeking an associate to join the global Third-Party Wealth and Strategic Partnerships Portfolio Management (TPW/PP PM) team within MAS. This Portfolio Management team is responsible for day-to-day management and construction of multi-asset class funds, retail models, highly dynamic institutional mandates and investment strategies. The successful candidate would focus on managing portfolio activities related to customized public/privates institutional mandates, MAS tactical tilt and privates building block funds in line with MAS investment philosophy, client guidelines and regulatory constraints. This role is highly analytical and detail-oriented, focusing on managing investment exposures and trading across many asset classes and investment strategies. This is a hands-on, market-facing portfolio management and execution role requiring a candidate with a strong trading background, sharp macroeconomic intuition, and the ability to seamlessly manage portfolios across both highly liquid public markets and illiquid private market vehicles. Core Responsibilities:
- Managing multi-asset class portfolios in line with client guidelines, internal investment policies, and regulatory constraints. Exercising investment expertise and judgment, with expectation of being able to perform key portfolio management responsibilities within a few months after joining.
- Working closely with senior PMs to execute strategic and tactical views with consistency, including determining optimal instruments to trade based on portfolio-specific, regulatory and market- related considerations.
- Structuring trades to facilitate portfolio activity across asset classes and product types (equities, fixed income, currencies, alternatives) and instruments (futures, forwards, ETFs, options, swaps, funds, SMAs).
- Creating investment and portfolio construction frameworks across asset classes, with focus on enhancing expertise in privates assets and new instruments.
- Managing the unique portfolio construction and liquidity challenges of hybrid public/private mandates, including cash flow forecasting, commitment pacing, and rebalancing around illiquid private asset building blocks.
- Managing portfolio risk across various investment vehicles and product desks, including exposure, currency and cash management, investment manager/vehicle oversight.
- Working closely with the Central Trading Desk overseeing trade execution
- Enhancing business scale by driving projects aimed at improving trading and risk management processes, infrastructure and investment analytics to further accelerate the team's ability to meet growth objectives, execute on portfolio management activities and mitigate trading risks.
- Serving as investment-side lead for complex portfolio events, including launch and onboarding of new client mandates and portfolio restructurings, requiring coordination across multiple internal stakeholder teams throughout the firm.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3-6 years of investment management and trading experience, with successful track record of employing qualities and functional abilities referenced above
- Experience as a junior PM or trader, with expertise in execution, trading and private assets experience a plus
- Deep curiosity and desire to continuously learn
- Out-of-box thinker with intelligent, creative, problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proven leadership and project management skills; experience working in global, cross-regional, cross-functional team

- Accountable portfolio owner with risk management and control orientation
- Quantitative analysis and skillset; strong programming skills in at least one language such as Python
- Ability to communicate investment strategies and rationales to audiences of varying levels of sophistication
- Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to present complex investment ideas clearly
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; Bloomberg, Reuters or financial data systems knowledge preferred
- Advanced degree or CFA designation preferred
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, NY, United States-based position is $100000-$170000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end. Benefits
