Research Assistant - Temporary

Position Overview:

The candidate will be working on a project that aims to evaluate the therapeutic potential of cerebellar stimulation in mouse models of Alzheimer's disease and mild traumatic brain injury. Their work will involve behavioral testing of mice and quantitative analysis of the results. Mice will be divided into cohorts that receive cerebellar stimulation using optogenetic techniques and sham treated mice that receive no stimulation but undergo the same surgical procedures. A third group of naive mice will serve as a baseline reference.
At later stages the work might also include performing surgeries on mice to implant LEDs for light stimulation.

Required Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree in related scientific field, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least four years

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in scientific laboratory setting

Pay Range: $23 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
