THE POSITION

Join the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources as a Document Management Support (Clerical Assistant 2) and help keep essential geological information organized and accessible. Your work will support staff and visitors who rely on accurate and well maintained records. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the daily operations of geological data and document handling for the division. The role helps ensure that file areas, visitor spaces, and document processing systems operate efficiently. As a Document Management Support (Clerical Assistant 2), you will perform the following duties:

  • Data Processing: Sort, scan, index, publish, and record oil and natural gas well data into the EDWIN system
  • Document Distribution: Distribute incoming documents to geologists for technical review and processing
  • Area Maintenance: Maintain visitor areas, file rooms, conference spaces, and the library to ensure neat and usable conditions
  • Visitor Assistance: Assist visitors by locating well data and demonstrating the use of EDWIN workstations
  • Record Organization: Support the review and consolidation of paper documents to streamline storage and access
  • Query Reporting: Run routine queries and compile requested information from the EDWIN system

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
