DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the Department of Transportation by performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and construction tasks that help worksites run smoothly and safely. As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Construction Support: Carry out basic building, framing, masonry, plumbing, electrical, and repair tasks for structures and equipment
- Material Preparation: Assist with planning, estimating, and selecting materials and tools needed for assigned projects
- Tool Operation: Use motorized and non-motorized hand tools safely and correctly to complete assigned work
- Equipment Care: Perform routine adjustments, minor repairs, and cleaning to keep equipment in safe working condition
- Safety Practices: Follow safety procedures, report hazards, and help maintain a safe work area for yourself and others
- Environmental Compliance: Follow environmental protection standards and complete required environmental training

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Work hours may vary for winter operations.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
