JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking aSurgery Schedulerresponsible for performing all tasks pertaining to the patient coordination with the surgery scheduling function of the practice.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Scheduling the patient's surgery in two different Epic charts as well as on the hospital grid and physician's schedule.



  • Obtaining insurance benefits for the patient's surgery and notifying the patient of those benefits as well as collecting the patient's responsibility.


  • Advising the patient of preparation instructions.



JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS




  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate's degree preferred.


  • Two years of experience in a clinical setting or in a coding/billing setting. An associate degree or higher may substitute for the experience requirement.
  • Prior experience on Epic preferred.

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting (preferable previous surgery scheduling experience).



  • Must be computer literate.



  • Must be able to read, understand and follow oral and written communications/instructions.



  • Able to handle a variety of tasks at one time.



  • Be able to demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.



  • Be able to work collaboratively and flexibly as a team member to meet the needs of the surgical patient.



  • Have a degree of accuracy in date entry, and able to work with minimum supervision.





JOB HOURS

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
