About the Patient Access Team

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for providing professional reception and scheduling services to patients, visitors and staff in a growing clinic setting. Applicants should have 5-star service standards, be detail orientated and able to multi-task and problem solve. This team works closely with patients, providers and clinic nursing staff to ensure a well-rounded care experience for patients. It is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, which makes this position an integral part of the care team. Mission for Position

At Lakewood Health System, every exceptional patient experience begins with access. We are seeking a collaborative, strategic leader to oversee Patient Access services while driving operational excellence, improving the patient experience, and supporting strong financial performance.

The Patient Access Manager provides leadership for scheduling, registration, insurance verification, referrals, and provider scheduling optimization. This role partners closely with clinic operations, Patient Financial Services, Clinical Informatics, Information Technology, providers, and leadership to improve workflows, enhance patient access, and lead system-wide process improvements.

Duties & Responsibilities



  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Patient Access team.
  • Oversee scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and referral operations.
  • Optimize provider schedules and workflows to improve access and efficiency.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement process improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional projects focused on operational excellence and patient experience.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, IT, Clinical Informatics, and clinic leaders to improve front-end revenue cycle performance and data integrity.
  • Support implementation of new technologies and workflow enhancements.


Position Type

This is a full-time position, working 80 hours per pay period.

Qualifications

Qualifications



  • Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three years of healthcare operations, patient access, scheduling, registration, or revenue cycle experience required.
  • One year of leadership experience required.
  • Experience leading projects or process improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Epic or electronic health record experience preferred.
