Description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of company facilities, hangars, and surrounding properties. This role performs preventative maintenance, repairs building systems, responds to tenant requests, and coordinates with external service providers to ensure facilities remain operational and well-maintained. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and skilled in troubleshooting a variety of facility-related issues while providing excellent customer service.


Facility Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure buildings, hangars, and facility systems remain in good working condition.
  • Assist with maintenance and repair activities involving structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical issues, including light fixtures, switches, outlets, and related components.
  • Address basic plumbing repairs, including leaky faucets and malfunctioning equipment, and assist with larger repairs as needed.
  • Perform light carpentry work and general facility repairs.
  • Monitor building conditions and identify maintenance needs before they become larger issues.


Grounds, Safety & Building Operations

  • Maintain facility comfort, safety, and operational efficiency by monitoring and adjusting systems such as sprinklers, irrigation timers, and environmental controls.
  • Ensure building systems operate safely and in compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
  • Perform general cleaning of buildings, hangars, and company property when needed.
  • Support the overall appearance and readiness of facilities for employees, tenants, customers, and visitors.


Tenant & Vendor Support

  • Respond to tenant maintenance requests, including key issuance, minor touch-ups, and facility-related concerns.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors and service providers performing work on company property.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with tenants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.


Administrative & Operational Support

  • Assist with tracking maintenance supplies and materials as needed.
  • Document completed repairs, maintenance activities, and vendor services.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent plus Previous facilities, maintenance, building operations, or related experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance systems, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural components.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with tenants, vendors, and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.



Working conditions and physical demands for this role -



  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, reach overhead, and lift or carry materials.
  • May work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work schedules may vary and can include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as operational needs require.
  • Must comply with all company safety policies and procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

Modern Aviation's Pay Range -

$26.00 - $28.00/hr. + benefits.



The Modern Aviation pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, or other laws.
