Summary:

The Audiology Technician provides technical support for hearing research studies, hearing conservation programs, participant testing, equipment operation, and field data collection activities supporting military hearing readiness and public health initiatives.

Work location: Nationwide Field Support

Personnel will support geographically dispersed military installations and field sites throughout the United States. Travel may be required based on Government requirements.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct audiometric testing and hearing assessments.
  • Operate and maintain hearing assessment equipment.
  • Support participant recruitment, scheduling, and testing activities.
  • Assist with field-based research studies and data collection efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with study protocols and quality requirements.
  • Maintain participant records and documentation.
  • Support hearing protection fit-testing and hearing conservation activities.
  • Assist with deployment and setup of equipment at field locations.
  • Support operational hearing assessments and readiness initiatives.
  • Travel to military installations and research sites as required.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Possess excellent ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years of research or clinical technical support experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Government suitability determination.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in audiology clinics, hearing conservation programs, occupational health settings, or military healthcare environments.
  • Experience conducting audiometric testing and participant evaluations.
  • Experience supporting research studies, surveys, and data collection activities.
  • Experience operating audiometric, hearing protection fit-testing, or related equipment.
  • Familiarity with military populations and readiness programs.
  • Ability to work independently in geographically dispersed field environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively to support mission requirements.
  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed teams, hybrid work environments, remote operations, or nationwide field activities.
  • Preferred candidates will have current or prior experience supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA), Hearing Center of Excellence (HCE), National Military Audiology and Speech Pathology Center (NMASC), Defense Centers for Public Health (DCPH), Military Health System (MHS), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), military treatment facilities (MTFs), hearing conservation programs, auditory readiness initiatives, or other military health and public health programs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 to $36.00 per hour.
