Job Summary The Lead Certified Medical Assistant is a hands-on working supervisor responsible for both direct patient care and coordination of daily clinic operations in the Heart and Vascular clinics. In addition to performing all standard CMA duties, the Lead CMA actively rooms patients, assists providers, and supports patient flow while overseeing staffing schedules, assignments, and daily operational readiness. Responsibilities include creating balanced weekly schedules, assigning daily duties, ensuring completion of daily clinic checks, monitoring patient flow to ensure timely rooming, provider visits, and checkout, maintaining adequate supply par levels, and organizing exam and procedure areas to ensure patient safety. The Lead CMA serves as the primary contact for providers and staff regarding daily clinic operations, reviews time-off requests and escalates as needed to the Clinic Manager, demonstrates effective communication and professional behavior, provides guidance and acts as a role model for CMAs, and supports efficient, patient-centered care. The Lead CMA functions under the direct supervision of physicians for clinical tasks and reports to the Clinic Manager for administrative supervision, staff development, and adherence to clinic policies and procedures.
