Overview
Egan Company is seeking candidates for a Technical Specialist position located in Champlin, MN. The Technical Specialist must be an experienced self-starter and strong relationship builder who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a strong understanding of electrical systems. In this rewarding role, you'll work alongside building owners, property, facility, and plant managers supporting their facilities through performing and assisting with preventative maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
The basic responsibilities of the Technical Specialist include but are not limited to the following:
- A solid understanding of electrical distribution systems, components, safety and maintenance standards (NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B)
- Strong ability to learn and master specialized database platforms, software, and technical equipment.
- With strong attention to detail, generate accurate IR Scan estimates and proposals and present them to the customer (internal & external) along with follow up until the sale is closed.
- Perform and execute IR Scans on sold proposals to include but not limited to Electrical and Mechanical equipment.
- Generate and save IR Scan reports along with presenting them to the customer
- Assist with scheduling the Electrical Maintenance and coordinating with the customers facility to ensure minimal operation disruption.
- Perform asset gathering duties at the customers facilities as part of the ARC Flash process
- Data entry of asset information into SKM software
- Use CRM software to manage customer communications, activities, and opportunities.
- Become a champion of asset management and EMP software.
- Stay current on changes to the EMP Software, testing equipment, and industry trends.
- Promote Egan's electrical service and maintenance offerings, including preventative maintenance programs, system upgrades, and emergency service solutions.
- Work closely with the EMP Account Manager, Account and Project Management teams promoting Egan's Electrical Maintenance Program
- Promote a positive safety culture and build strong internal partnerships; work collaboratively within a group and with other Egan groups to support Egan's Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Identify and communicate process improvements and other opportunities to management.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of electrical experience, or technical experience in a cross-functional or customer service organization.
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Thermography Level 2 Certification
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with IR Thermal Imaging cameras and software is highly preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and execute multiple items under competing deadlines.
- Thrive in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
- Ability to make mature judgments in matters related to client relations efforts.
- Working knowledge with customer relationship management systems (ie. Copper, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, or similar).
- Growth mindset with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to changing technology.
- Excellent listening and communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to present ideas and complex information in a concise, professional manner.
- Working knowledge of estimating processes and procedures.
- Ability to present to both internal and external groups.
- Ability to learn and promote other areas of the business.
- Proficient in the use of computer programs such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships.
- Strong desire to grow professionally and to learn and retain technical information.
- Self-starter with strong initiative, follow-through and detail oriented
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with our internal customers as well as external customers.
- Ability to successfully deliver work independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team.
Working Conditions
- Performance of duties will be in the office, at customer sites, and job sites as needed.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs.
- Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements are to be expected on job sites.
- Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected on job sites.
