The Beirne Carter Center for Immunology Research (CIC) was established to expand basic, translational, and clinical research in Immunology. It is a vibrant, collaborative community of Immunologist studying immune mechanisms in a variety of contexts, including cardiovascular diseases. Within the CIC, iPRIME (Immunology, Imaging, and Informatics for Precision ImmunoMedicine) was established to create an ecosystem to support novel bench to bedside discoveries in CVD. Position Summary A position is available at the Beirne Carter Center for Immunology Research (CIC), at the University of Virginia in the research group ofDr. Coleen McNamarato work with Drs. Nisha Hosadurg and Todd Villines in the state of the art, high quality analysis of coronary artery computed tomography. We are seeking to understand the immune system contributions to human coronary artery disease using single cell analytics of human circulating immune cells and genetics. We have quality biospecimen banked on subjects undergoing CCTA to allow for novel investigation. As a Research Associate you will work closely with Drs. Hosadurg and Villines in CCTA image analysis and interpretation and participate in scientific investigation of biospecimen and clinical data correlates of disease severity, characteristics and progression. provide scientific and technical guidance on experimental design, conduct and interpret, and also perform studies.
